    oil plug

Hey guys I stripped the oil plug on my 82 gs550l this weekend what are the best options for fixing the problem?

I have a tap kit that screws into the bad threads & cuts new threads as it goes up that are the size of the helicoil to put it bact to stock thread size. If you can find the tap, GREASE the tap threads up really good & cut the threads. The grease will catch the aluminum chips from tapping & allow you to keep them out of the motor. This way you can do it on the bike without removing the oil pan. The BEST way is to pull the pan & do it all on a drill press. Ray.
