    Speedo

    My recently purchased 82 gs850 has a screw in both the speedo and tach that have rattled loose, one of the ones that hold the dial face in place.

    Is there any way to get inside? I thought about trying to remove the bezel that holds the glass down. When I unbolted the back cover I saw the closed end rivit, can I drill that out and disassemble it from behind?

    Any help would be great.

    Funny you should ask. I looked at my speedo after work today and noticed one screw bouncing around in there.
    Same question applies.
    I know you need to pry the metal ring of the glass off the main body. Is there a less intrusive method like using a dremmel and glueing it back together?
    Anyone have a 140 speedo with the after 80 signal self cancel?

      Prying off the ring IS less intrusive than cutting the body apart. Pretty easy job.

        So after taking everything apart, I figured removing the bezel was the way to go. With a small screw driver I gently pried off the bezel. I bit tricky trying not to damage it, but it's all back together and working. Now for the Tach.
