I understand that the cylinder gasket does not need to have sealant. What about all the other gaskets? I am replacing all top and bottom end gaskets. Thanks!

Basically, no sealant on anything other than the crankcase halfs. The service manual will lead you.Ed

Some folks like to put grease, or anti-seize or something on the gasket to prevent it sticking if you need to open up that gasket again.
I guess it depends on your odds of going in again.

i'm one of the guys that puts anti-seize on gaskets that may need to be removed soon - but thats also cos i'm inclined to take things apart rather often
it also depends on the gaskets you use, some are made of good enough material that wont bake-on anytime soon so you dont need any greasing on thoseGS850GTComment

If you read the SUZUKI shop manual, on most models they will say to put a dab of sealer on a gasket that lands on the case mating surface. For instance, the clutch cover gasket on a 16 valve 750 or 1100. I next to never do it & the motors I build do NOT leak. If you don't have a shop manual for your model bike, I HIGHLY recommend you get one. I like the FACTORY Suzuki manuals the best but to each their own. I also like factory Suzuki gaskets the best for STOCK rebuilds. Ray.Comment
