How to build your own oil cooler adaptor tutorial

Ed, do you use any type of thermostat or do you flow the oil straight through?1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.

excellent write up mate..
will most definitely be using since i live in central florida where its hot almost all the time. ive been needing some cooling going on and i think i might even add some small fans to the front of the cooler for added effect/coolness.
im a computer nut so i have plenty of cool looking led fans small enough and cheap enough to fabricate on there.... if you dont think it would be too much.. even so i still might just go for an added look during the night with the led fans...
also do you think it would be fine to leave the cooler on year round..? it is my daily ride and its mostly hot as hell down here.
and what about the thermostat that was mentioned. how would i go about that? i would like to rig one of those up somewhere

Ed, do you still have that original plate? Looks like that boss on the end colud just and drilled and tapped...thinking

Im thinking of making a bracket for several of them (3 rows of 3 i think) It would look cool as hell at night especially with the leds on the fans. They are extremely cheap, come in many different colors so you can match or accent your bike and i have a bunch laying around already. here is the napa part number
it's a napa oil pressure switch .5 psi to 2 psi part number op6115
opps oh well I see ed covered that already in the pdf, that number should cross referance to other manufactures too, i know yo ucan get them at autozone as well, but i think the quaility is lacking. Apparently finding a piece of half inch aluminum is not as easy as I thought, the one piece I had is just short. Where can I source this?

Oil Cooler
I once made a vinyl snap-on cover to keep my oil cooler from "over cooling" when the weather got cold. Worked well.
