    Exhaust Swap?

Anyone know if the exhaust off a 1980 GS750L will fit on a 1980 GS550L? I have a chance to get one in a lot better condition than mine but not sure if it will line up with mounts and head. Looks the same but part numbers are different.

Pretty sure that it will not fit, as the head designs are much different, but I'm not 100% sure. I'm sure someone with more experience will chime in.

I know the MAC on my old 80 750L would not have worked on my dad's 82 650L, if that helps at all.

I am doubting it as well. I looked at an exhaust off an 850 and I know it would not as the exhaust ports seemed further apart.

Hey guys, what about the "E" model? I found a nice exhaust off an 80 GS550E and besides being black looks the same.

That header will fit but the cans might be a different length.
Part numbers for the headers are the same but the cans are different.
Worth a shot if you can fabricate a bracket?

I think Iwill go for it. I guess if they don't fit i can just resell...haha

Thanks for all of the information guys! Once I get the carbs cleaned up I am sure I will have a few more questions when it comes to tuning... Lots of reading to do.
