GS1150ES rear shock, rebuildable?
Does anyone know if the rear shock on an 1150 is rebuildable? If so, by whom?
Thanks, Greg B.The Three Horsemen

As far as I know, No. Try Works Perfornance at 818 701 9043. I put a Dura S on my wife's 1150ES with remote resevoir. No longer the boinger it once was. Not cheap at $650, but rebuildable and custom built for your riding style and weight.GS\'s since 1982: 55OMZ, 550ES, 750ET, (2) 1100ET\'s, 1100S, 1150ES. Current ride is an 83 Katana. Wifes bike is an 84 GS 1150ES

Thats what I was afraid of. I have a Works shock on my 1150, but was thinking of using my old stock 1150 shock on my Katana project. I liked the idea of the remote adjusters on the 1150 shock. Oh well. Sigh. The Three Horsemen

A GSXR shock is a possibility. The clevis or eye may need to be modified along with the dog bones. I have a 99 Bandit shock in good shape. 12.5" eye to eye. Neither has the remote adjustability you want though.GS\'s since 1982: 55OMZ, 550ES, 750ET, (2) 1100ET\'s, 1100S, 1150ES. Current ride is an 83 Katana. Wifes bike is an 84 GS 1150ES

Thanks anyway. I already have a Bandit shock & swingarm, '01 I think. I guess I'll use that.
I figured it was worth a shot asking anyway. The Three Horsemen

The trouble with the shocks used on the 1150, 750, an d 700 models is they lack a valve to recharge the shock with nitrogen. Because of the design there really isn't room to install one. Someone was going to try Lindemann Engineering to see if they could rebuild one but never returned with a response.
