    Chattery tachometer

My tach started chirping and chattering. I was pretty sure it was the cable, so I replaced it with an OEM one.

It still makes the sound. Is there something inside the housing that needs lubing?

    Thanks!

    Hi Mr. ryonker,

My tach has made noise a couple of times. I've had good luck just squirting some lube in the hole where the cable attaches. You might want to take off the gauge assembly, turn it upside down, and spray a little WD40 or silicon lubricant in there, not too much.

    Thank you for your indulgence,

I second silicone lube, or even white lithium grease. Pull your cable, rinse the sleave out, and lube it up as well, should help a bit and definately cant hurt...

        Thanks guys!

I have been riding it almost every day to work now (45 miles one way). That's why I bought the bike. It takes a little less than a gallon one way, so I guess I am getting aboutg 45 plus mpg.

        Have a great day!
