    Longevity question

How far do these old bikes go?

I have a '78 750 with 41,000 miles. Runs fine, no abnormal oil consumption and compression figures of 115 PSI across the board.

I had an '80 1100 that went 75,000 with me, and at least up to 100,000 with it's subsequent owner. It needed a top end at 50,000. How do the old 8 valver's do?

I feel that my wife's 850, at 62,275 miles, still has a LOT of life left.
No reason they shoudln't go well over 100,000 miles.

I don't recall if Nick's (Grandpa's 1100G) ever needed any head work in the 123,000 miles he racked up.

Not that Im aware of. Its about 20 miles from crossing 134,000 miles at the moment.. Tranny is a lil noisy, or maybe its the secondary box, but still shifts smooth and fires right up every day.
