    I need Help

I am getting very frustrated these are what i've done to the bike

    1. New intake orings
    2. Dipped carbs 24 hrs. replaced orings
    3. Checked valves and shimmed
    4. New petcock
    5. trimmed wires on plug caps
    6. spark plugs are new and good I swapped plugs
    7. has spark maybe not enough don't know how to check
    8. coil relay mod
    9. new battery
    10.compression is 155 on #1 cyl.

Now for the problem no power on top end pulled the plugs #1 is wet 2,3,4, are ok I can pull plug wire from 1 no change in engine sound 2,3,4, and the engine dies what can I do next. There is spark on #1 maybe not hot enough spark has a orange color I jumped spark from wire to plug no change. It acts like #1 is not firing Everyone has been very helpful Thank You

    #2
you can swap the leads 1-4 and see if the "wet" plug follows
if it does = spark prob
if it does not = carb prob

if indeed #1 isnt firing the header would be cold / luke warm only and the lack of power would be noticeable across the range, not just at top end

You need to check you plug cap on number 1.

Had the same problem on my GS1000E. Stripped the carbs off three times thinking it was a blocked jet. Then realised that the cap was not working so changed it, now no problems.

Switch the plug cap and see if the problem follows.
Is the #1 plug new and gapped?
