gs500e cam chain snapped
just got a gs500e of ebay.the guy said that the cam chain had snapped but the engine is not siezed as it was running slow when it happened.the wheels move in gear but stop after a little way,(dont worry,done this very carfully),i think the cogs maybe jumped a few teeth,any ideads

Obviously take the plugs out too so you arn't straining her as much, aye dude. you just forgot to mention that becuase the kettle was overboiling eh...
on a side note get the motor out....
get the sump etc off, get ALL oil out, and give it one hell of a check over/ may need to strip down, if even a single tooth is broken off the sprockets for the cam chain, it has fallen into ya motor somewhere, you need to get them all out, use a magnet etc....
because even one little shard could get into your gears/ go down an oil feed channel and restrict flow etc etc, list is endless...Last edited by Guest; 09-08-2008, 04:28 PM.
