Thanks to this fourm and it's members !

I'd like to say thank you to all the members of this forum, and the forum admins for this great site. One of the best forums on the internet in my opinion.

I got a really good deal on 1980 GS 850 L that had been stored for at least 3 years, because the the PO couldn't get it to run.

The bike that I bought went from not idling nor running without half and sometimes full choke. Number 4 exhaust cold, backfiring, spit'n and sput'n. You name it, it ran like shyte, when it did run and i could get it started.

But thanks to this great forum, and it's members, new intake boots, carbs cleaned following the guide from this site, new spark plug caps, air-box sealed and cleaned up. Now my bike starts by just touching the start button, and idles like a fine swiss watch at 1,100 RPM.

    Thanks guys, and gals !
And a special thanks to chef1366 for selling me the parts that I myself messed up.

Next step, adjust valves, tune and sync carbs.

It's great when a plan comes together. And you gotta love them "L's".

Swiss watch? Wouldn't it be a Japanese watch?

I've always liked the styling of the L, I had a GS450L when I was a young whipper snapper. Always wanted another one, now i have a nice GS850L.
