fuel gage: anyone have a pic?

took my tank off of a non-running bike. i got it just to mess around with, and try to learn.

anyways, the fuel gage under the tank has a disconnected connector, and i have zero clue what it connects to.

i am not talking about the end that connects down around the battery. i am talking about the end attached to the tank. thanks guys.

    Does this help??

Almost looks like the same set-up on my 83 1100E.

yes it does help! there is a little flange on the body of the gage. it looks like my loose wire fits over it. thanks.

You should have two wires that go to the gauge. You can see where they attach on part #8 in the diagram above.

i see the wires, and it fits what i am looking at here in real life. but what is item 7? a spring? i am not seeing a spring.

7 is probably an anti-chafe spring that fits over for the fuel pipe - not essential.
