i've checked it out today - didn't think it looked too good... no known history, the guy's not sure if all the parts are even there, and it looks like it's been sitting outside with the barrels off the cases... quite a few bits are coroded, incl the crankshaft... he wants $450 for it... so i figure that's too much of a gamble all up
i asked if he wanted to sell the bottom end only (thinking i could use just the crankcases and the rest of the internals from the other engine) but the guy's not interested

We had a guy like that here.... He went out of business.
He wanted $200 for a used clutch
I got one off here for cheap

Pack all those little pieces in boxes, maybe some day you will find some cases

How much do the empty cases weigh?

Out of curiousity, I was looking on Fedex website and you can ship a
25kg box from USA to Auckland,NZ for around $300.

yeah, that's about right... which comes close to buying that whole engine here...
unless i can find a running engine here that i know is worth the investment, Bruno will have to do with its 850cc
