I have no connnectors going to the brake light switch on my 1984 GS550ES. The orange and white wire that terminates at the brake light switch comes out of the main wiring harness. near the base of the right rear side of the fuel tank about 2 feet from the brake light switch location. I know this has got to be frustrating to you, and I appreciate you working with me to the extent you have. Perhaps after we get this working you will have the correct setup for the 550ES bikes made in 84-86. :-) So I can run long jumpers,. From what to where should I run them? I just need help with the black wire, female end and male end. The R/R requires mounting on the left side of my bike the elec. harness with the feed wires to the brake light switch are on the right side of the bike. Thanks Tom

Tie into any switched live wire. Make sure it has similar readings as the battery with the ignition on but motor not running.1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.

Ok I have a switched lead at the bottom of the fuse box. I will tie the sense wire to that and see what happens and let you know. Thanks

Houston, we don't have a problem. I hooked the sense wire to an orange wire terminating in the fuse box that reads 10.8 volts with the ignition on engine not running. I also ran a jumper from the green ground wire on the frame to the negative battery cable to insure a good ground. I am getting around 14.2-14.4 at idle and high rpm. Tough R/R Duaneage after what I have put it through. So for GS550 ES and other 1984-86 GS550's you need to tap a 12 volt switched wire. There is no plug in's for the brake light switch in the harness. So I am good to go. Thanks all for your encouragement. I managed to make something simple, complicated, but I learned something thanks to all of you.
