What Engines Directly Bolt Into A 1982 Suzuki GS650G?
I have a 1982 Suzuki Gs 650G one of the bearings that connects the crankshaft to the piston rod is bad. I tore down the engine to find this out. From what I have heard it is very difficult to fix this problem and I should just get a new donor engine.

Any of the shaft-drive 650s will work for sure.
Because of the shaft drive and smaller size, I don't think you would get much else in there. The block is similar to the 750, but the 750 shaft-drive did not make it out of Japan.

I don't see why it would be hard to replace the bearing, even if you got a crank from ebay. The engine weighs 208 pounds (ask how I know) and shipped you're looking at 200 dollars plus whatever the engine costs. If you had a busted case or a bolt snapped off somewhere that would be different. But I would call this a repairable offense, you just need to spend the time to work on it.1981 GS650G , all the bike you need

I agree with fixing the engine you have. Good fun.
The chain drive 650 engine was derived from the 550 engine, so maybe you could get a 550 engine to fit the mounts. Going to be way more work than just fixing your 650 engine in the end I suspect.Ed
