1982 Suzuki GS 850 valve cover

    Hi all -

    been away, now I'm back.

Any idea what a reasonable price would be for a good condition 82 gs 850 valve cover? Not the gasket, mind you, the actual cover.

My bike needed a bunch of work, and i had to have the valve cover replaced. Id like to get a range of $$ of what something like that would be worth so I can tell if they try to eff me on that part or not.

Any info would be helpful, thanks!

If you are having someone do the work I'm guessing you paid probably $100. You could buy one on Ebay for $25-50
It must be from an 82-83 earlier covers bolt holes are different

Not sure when the bolt pattern changed, I have heard that it was during the '82 model run.

'79 through early '82 heads and valve covers had 16 bolts. Late '82 and later heads and valve covers had 19 bolts.

.I just did a quick eBay search for "suzuki 850 valve cover". No active auctions, but there were five hits in the stores.
