    Brake pads

Can anyone tell me which front break pads are better?

Those from Lucas or those from EBC?

    Thanks!

    Hi Mr. noobie,

EBC is fine. It's all I've ever used. Good bang for your buck.

    Thank you for your indulgence,

I've not seen Lucas pads, Vesrah and EBC are most common. EBC makes a few different formulas, the best choice is their standard formula, after all you probably ride like the rest of us.
1981 GS650G , all the bike you need
1980 GS1000G Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely

I prefer the frictioniest pads I can get, makes the bike stop with a lot less effort and so a lot more control. A lot closer to stopping like a modern bike, although it's still not even close. Maybe two fingers required on the lever instead of three on an old GS.
Some say they wear the discs too fast, guess it depends on the rider.

The the really good ones that get gripier when they get heated up are maybe not well suited for an inexperienced rider, especially on slippery roads. They increase the braking after about a half second or so in a hard stop to maybe twice the level of braking they were doing when they were cool, that sudden increase might lock the front wheel if you had to stop quickly, maybe with cars around doing something stupid to distract you.
They are really intended for racing, where they are kept pretty hot.
Got some like that on my BMW(car) incredible stopping power.

EBC is very good quality stuff in any formula.

Life is too short to ride an L.

          "frictioniest"

Gonna add that one to my dictionary.
