    I did it!!

I was able to clean and polish 1 carb in less than a day. Here's what I did:

I used a small wire brush for a dremel and modified it with a point, (to get in the "hard to reach" area) and removed all of that pesky powdery stuff.

Then I used a polishing attatchment that looks like a bullet, (modified that with a point also) and some CDA Motorcycle Cleaner.

Here's the result taken from a cell phone camera:

    What do you think?

I couldn't have done it without all of your help.

    Thanks alot

    Bones

I need a shippping address please. I'll send my quad carb-set from my GS850 over immediately. I need that cleaned, polished and if you would, go ahead and set the float heights while you have it.

I really appreciate your time and effort!

Nice job on the body. Are you going to polish the tops and float bowls, too?

I've been wondering how best/easily to go about that, and your approach looks very good. Thanks!

I haven't bothered polishing carbs in about 35 years. I used to polish the ones on my old T305. The metal used on these carb bodies polishes up easily. I used to just use a toothbrush and Simichrome polish.
