I know this has been asked a few times over the years but I could not find an actual diagram to show an exploded view in all past posts. Went to bike bandit and did not find one their either, tried more than one model at bike bandit and still no success. anyone know where I can find an exploded view of petcock. yes I checked my chilton and factory manuals. thanks if anyone can come up with it. its a 82 850l

There are only a handful of parts. What is the issue?
I took apart an '82 850 petcock a few months ago and did some work on it. Lever was very hard to turn so I smoothed out the tapered plastic barrel on the inside of the petcock using fine sandpaper. Works perfectly now...and the brand new petcock I bought just in case is still sitting in the box.

I took apart a 550 petcock not long ago trying to see if i could get it working, only to find that there was no apparent reason it DIDNT work. Liquid flowed thru it when it was off the tank, but it simply wouldnt work when attached. try download a manual from bikecliff website and see if theres anything there
my suzuki and haynes both have diagrams but i have no scanner, sorry
what is the issue though? if it's not working just buy a new one, old ones can rarely be fixedGS850GTComment
