Rectifier/ regulator question !!! Easy one.

I had my regulator quit on my 1980 GS550L , I found one here locally but it's from a 1981 GS1000 . is the voltage the same for all GS's will this work on my bike.

Please advise.

i will go out on a limb and say...
yes.
maybe differant plugs but should still be a five wire harness.
1980 and later suzuki gs combined the rect/reg into one box.

the wiring harness and the color of the wires are all the same color. Thanks for your quick response . I been broken down for a month and now I'm ready to get on the road again....

Before just replacing the R/R, you should go though the Stator Pages and make sure your stator is Ok so you don't just burn up another R/R.
