Sounds like he gave you a price for head gasket, not valve cover gasket.
My bike is going on the trailer this morning to have both valve cover gasket and head gasket replaced.

I don't have the price yet, the mechanic that's doing the work is very fair.
He also rides an S, with a side car.

        Mike,

        Cycle-Re-Cycle has them:

The 1st Suzuki option, at $9.95/ea for 82-83 GS850......isn't rubber, but the price is sure in the right range.

        Hope this helps.

What's worse, is trying to find a headlight for a GS450...

          Odd sized bucket, etc...

          $50-60 for a LIGHT...

So I rigged a halogen auto bulb inside the old sealed-beam bulb, which is now my reflector/bulb holder...

If you type the original part number into the Ron Ayers 'part number' box on their website, it produces the correct updated part number for you and gives you a price.
I don't think you can beat their prices.
