    surely, just after a ride, the disc would be much cooler than ambient temperature due to the air flow cooling it.
    maybe similar if the bike had been parked outside in the sun for a few hours

      I started a similar thread awhile ago after being concerned about the temp of the diff on my GK. Outa curiosity I touched the diffs on every shaft drive bike in attendence at the WV Rally last month. I was happy to find that they were all very warm (kinda hot, actually) to the touch. IMO, the temps you're seeing are normal. FWIW, I noticed a drop in the temp of mine after switching to Valvoline synthetic.
