Dyna 2000 location with stock airbox
Anyone out there using a Dyna 2000 with the stock airbox? Where did you mount it? I have a bike in my garage (78 GS1000) that has the 2000 on it and needs the airbox put back on. I was going to mount it in the tool compartment in the tail, but the leads aren't long enough. Doesn't look like there is room in the frame either.

How about putting it alongside the indicator box on the side of the battery carrier? There's a bit of room in there. (Just make up a longer 'rubber band' and clip both on together).79 GS1000S

I put mine in the tool try area. The lead length was fine. I made a bracket and mounted it using the 4 screws in the back. I could take a picture. its pointed to the right side of the bike so I could see the light when I was adjusting the timming.

I found that there was just enough room to mount the controller between the airbox and rear inner fender. Thanks for the suggestions.

How left side inside of frame on the back side of the regulator and rectifier mounting plate. Nestle in close to the wiring harness.

There are 2 of the 2000 versions. The older one is not programmable, the newer one can be tuned on a laptop if you buy the connector kit.
The 2.2 ohm ones are the grey coils.
Without programming they come with 4 standard advance curves & 4 retard curves (for turbo, nos etc). These are all switchable on the box.
