    Someone here selling Honda R/R's?

I haven't been on much since the site came back up, do I remember that someone here is selling Honda R/R packages? I looked in the parts section and searched some but couldn't find a reference.

Yesterday I went to charge my battery since I haven't ridden in a few weeks and I planned to go down to Florida this weekend but when I pulled the battery I found it almost dry. This is a 6 month old battery too.

So AFAIK this would only be caused by the battery overcharging right? I haven't had a chance to start following the Stator Papers yet but I'll get started on that this weekend instead of riding now... grr

    Thanks,

Could be. Clean your R/R connector really good. Find the R/R frame ground point and jumper that to the battery neg terminal (-). Check your battery voltage with the bike running about 2k rpms. Should be at least 14vdc.

Thanks for the tips. I had the R/R connector on and off several times last summer when I was doing the ignition relay mod. Even though I cleaned it that will be a good place to start since I think I remember one wire terminal being loose in the connector.

I also ran an extra ground to the battery at that time. I think I ran it from one of the R/R mounting bolts to the negative terminal.

Usually too high a charging voltage is what boils the battery dry. SOmetimes it can be the battery

Take a meter to the battery and stator. Measure the voltage and figure out what's wrong before you start throwing parts at it.

            Also +1 to duanage (sp?)
