P.O. swapped pods in without rejet. I cant seem to find an air box from a 79 anywhere. Bike bandit shows 79 & 80 have different part #. I have a line on one from an 80. Has anyone tried this swap? what are the differences?

You may also want to try other models. I don't know if theone thqt you are looking for will work or not. I know that with some things, there is similarity among other models of the same year.

Hi Mr. four_shot,
The '79 and '80 GS850s had different carbs. You may have to be patient and keep looking on ebay. If you have a local listings on craigslist.com, cycletrader.com, etc, you can check for parts or bikes being parted out there too. There was a parts bike in my area recently going for only $100, but I didn't pounce on it quickly enough. Good luck.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
