Most Radio Shacks have chests of drawers that contain items like connectors, diodes, fuses, & basic hardware like screws & washers.
One of the plastic bags that contain the flat washers is an "assortment" pack as SqdancerLynn has indicated. In there are the very small washers we use for shimming needles (along with several other larger sizes). I don't believe RS carries these small washers as "stand-alones" any longer, so you have to buy this assortment pack...
As TCK has hinted, most of the RS employees have never seen these items - but if you look yourself, you'll generally find them... just keep walking past their "deer in the headlight" look & find them yourself.
Good luck,

i remember when radio shack was a place where they knew something about electronics, now they only know how to sell ya a cell phone. i still find useful stuff in those drawers in the back sometimes. i know better than to ask the help if they know where something is though.2002 bmw r1150gs 1978 gs1000E skunk les pew 1979 gs1000L dragbike

I ground down some washers by stacking them on a screw, cinching them tight with a nut, and chucking the assembly in a dremmel so the washers could be dressed down with a file or sandpaper. Worked pretty well but finding the proper washers would save some time.Last edited by Nessism; 12-11-2008, 10:39 AM.Ed

I also got the assortment pack a while back. I went in and asked for the smallest electronic washers they had. The guy walked me back to the drawer section and there they were. As I was paying for them I told him what I was using them for that is when I got the "Mars look".82 GS850L - The Original http://s224.photobucket.com/albums/d...ePics067-1.jpg
