Coated the tank now it leaks
I coated the tank and I noticed a run the paint bigger than the last time I messed up pulling out the gas pump (rattle can job). It's been a couple months since filling up the bike after coating. Seems like it just happened after a really cold night. Tonight walked out in the shed and tank is really wet. Coming straight from the gas cap. Went and got my keys to open the cap. Didn't hear any hissing noise went it opened. One thing I noticed before coating if I filled up the tank just a bit too much the level would lower to the max amount. Now after the coating that does not happen any more. Don't know if that throws up any flags for you guys.Tags: None

Like if I filled it up to the top of the filler neck or anywhere above the bottom of the filler neck the fuel level would go back down to the bottom of the filler neck. I wouldn't do that on purpose just sometimes it would happen and really I never filled it up to the top I was just saying.
I used Red-Kote I know a lot of people don't like but I had bought it already.

Red-Kote should be fine.
The tube in the filler neck should have a hole in the side of it right near the top, did that get filled with the sealer?

Okay so it was a bit longer to get back with you than I said BUT it got really freakin cold fast and I didn't want to go out side. Anyway. I found a hole at the top of the filler neck and paper clip did the trick to clean it out. Is there a way to tell if it's been fixed other than filling up the gas tank too full? I don't make it a point to do that because I pretty sure it's kinda like a oops feature but I'd like to know if I can start thinking about repainting the tank. And to know for sure if gas will ever come out while I'm driving with a hot motor.
