Suzuki bond?

I have my cases apart and i am getting close to putting them back together. I had originally thought of using silicone to seal it. But, maybe I will use Suzuki bond, although it seems crazy to me to glue your cases together. I am wondering, does it add to the structual rigidity of the engine or something? With silicone, i can just see little bits of it floating around inside
What should I use??

Definitely the suzuki bond over the silicone. I used yamabond (grey colored) can't remember if it was #4 or #5, at work presently can't check which it was. I don't think silicone will seal as well. The yamabond stays put and cleans up later very easily.

Don't use silicone, or gasket maker silicone, or anything like that. Been there, done that. Use Suzuki bond or Yamabond or another product like it. I use ThreeBond 1194, available from Z1 and a number of other places. http://www.z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=178 It's cheap too, and won't dry out and be useless like the rest of a tube of silicone.

It doesn't actually glue the cases together. You can still take it apart easily.

I use nothing but Threebond 1207B. It is available at the Suzuki dealers & runs about 20 bucks a tube & 1 tube will last you more than 10 years. It is the BEST I've ever used! Ray.

I think this is the newest version of the ThreeBond material commonly sold as Yamahabond, Suzukibond, Hondabond, etc, and recommend for case halfs as Rudy states. Good stuff.

If you want it to last (forever) - Red Hermatite. The modern products listed above are better but I have a suspicion that 99% of the Hermatite ever used is still in existence.

Black? The sealer oozing out of the case halfs on all my silver engine bikes have been gray or a brownish looking gray. Never seen black.
