    Repacking Muffler

    Gs 1000g 1981
Ok so I pulled the ends off my megaphones and the only thing inside was some chicken wire.
Any ideas on how to quieten her down?
Can I slip some perforated tube in or am I wasting my time?

I bought some steel wool and wrapped it around the tube inside. It made a big difference. If you don't have a tube in the center of the muffler then someone "hogged out" your muffler at some point.

If it is a set of stock pipes, you have already ruined them becase the ends are not removeable.

You did use the plural "megaphones", which led me to the statement above. Most after-market pipes are 4-into-1, but there are some 4-into-2, it's possible you have one of those systems. If you have an after-market system, how to quiet it down depends on what you have in there besides chicken wire.
