need a window!an oil window that is

I cracked mine trying to put it back in. Checked a few parts fische but couldn't come up with anything. It's for a gs400 if that helps. Where can I buy one new? Or does anyone have a good used piece ? I'm not proud used is fine as long as it's not cracked like mine. Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

What year GS400 do you have?

On the four-cylinder models, the oil window is:

      .LENS, OIL LEVEL CHECK
      11971-45010

Depending on where you get parts, it's about $8-$9.

It's quite likely that this will also fit your GS400 -- many 4 cylinder models also leave this off the fiches.

Can you measure the outside diameter of your window to confirm it's the same?

For the part number I posted earlier, the oil window measures 25mm. This includes the rubber ring around the glass. When you order a new oil level window, it comes assembled with the little "cage" on the back and the rubber sealing ring.

Basically, it installs just like an oil seal, except you obviously will want to press it in, not pound it in. I padded a large vise, then pressed it in with a socket.

The later GS500 engines use a dipstick. Must have been cheaper...
