Odometer trip knob

Will an 80 GS1100 odometer trip knob work on a 1979 GS550?
The 79 has a big end on it and the 80 is small. (the end you turn)
I just bought a 140mph speedo off one missing the knob. Microfiche doesn't even list it anymore.

The 79 550L part number for the trip knob is 722252-001.
I hope mine works.

You're right about the Bikebandit part number but Alpha Sports says that part number no longer available.
