will it fit?
will a 1980 16v 1100l motor fit into an 83 1100e frame?, i have roughly measured and it does look like it will, but so many of you guys have done similar swaps someone should know, thanksTags: None

I'm not an expert but I think the engine is basically the same other than details on the inside.Ed

I'm not an expert but I think the engine is basically the same other than details on the inside.
108 vs. 111 hp
20 vs. 24 bolt pattern on valve cover
hour glass vs. square breather cover
small vs large end crank
not vs. welded crank
smaller cams on 80
chrome steel v.s. cast aluminum cam end cap side covers
yea slower color
valve seat details (if I got that right)
can't think of anything else

Same engine (mount wise) Engine wise is covered quite well above.1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.
