GS750, whatelse will fit?
Im working on a 1982 GS750. The upper part of the engine is gone and Im wondering what else will fit the motor mount config of this frame. Reason Im asking is I dont have a jig to relocate new mounts and ensure they will be straight. Im hoping a 550 up will.

Any of the gs/ gsx range should fit ok & you wont need a jig to sort out the engine mounts some of the original mounts may fit (depending on the engine you chose) & the others can be easilly made with simple tools
The only other problems i forsee is exhaust clearance due to different engine heights (again this depends on the engine you chose) & maybe a small amount of electrical work

I am under the impression that the majority of 650s that were sold were shaft-drive, so be careful that you are only looking at a 650E, not a G or GL.

I have never seen a 750 shafty.
You were on the right track.1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.

Thier was a Japan only 750 shafty. Only seen pictures YES the 650 was made in both versions chain & shaft Also the 1100 was made both as a 2 valve shaft drive motor and a 4 valve chain drive motor SO make sure it is a chain drive motor
