    miss at idle

my 82 gs850 just put the carbs boots orings all the orings in the carbs everything is sealed from the airbox forward . has a slight miss at idle popping thru the exhaust i figured the carbs were out of sync since the idle screw was turned out and idle didnt change ran the idle screw in til the rpms started to rise backed off a little . the sync screws then slowbrought them up til the rpm started to rise backed off then brought it in tlii it smoothed out after doin that ajusted the piolet screwsto about 2.5 to 3 turns out miss is still there .its not wvwey time soon as you touch the gas its fine. almost like 1 of the new plugs is not firing right .im gonna check it for vac leaks anything else i should look for thanks

I'd do a proper synch with vacuum gauges. It's possible that your carbs are quite a bit out from what you describe and it might be that one carb has a blocked pilot and is running through the needle circuit at tickover.
If you do a proper synch and a pilot jet is blocked you'll only be running on 3.

Most times popping at idle is caused by the idle mixture screws being lean. OR I've seen people put in double o-rings by not digging out the old one.

its possible but most of the time when its idling its not missing the hotter it gets the more i notice it .it sounds like its idling on all 4 and intermittently it drops. i am gonna make a carb sync tool this week i have a mercury 1 but its 500 miles away and im not spending 100 bucks for another .im going to check the temps of the pipes while its running with my lazer temp guage try to narrow it down to wich cyl. there is no place around atlanta where i can rent a sync tool i need to do that before i do anything else .i just got to cold in the garage today with the door open and the fan blowing on the motor hands got so cold they started burning .the only thing i noticed is the vac line that goes to the petcock when the tank is on if i wiggle it seems like its a bit better i have 1 end of it blocked off with a drillbit

hey chef only 1 oring they are a piece of cake to get out i have a wood screw that the end just barely starts in the washer pulls the washer and oring out every time doesnt screw in near far enough to bottom out on the seat . it really seems like 1 of the new plugs might be miss firing but doesnt make sense why its only at idle . when its cold you cant tell hardly when it warms up its more pronounced

Funny, that's how I get my o-rings out.

Check that the pilot air jet is the same as the others.
