Transmission bearing roll pin/dowel
On my 79 GS1000 motor. There are 4 transmission bearings, they all take a half circular ring thats keeps them in place in the cases. 3 out of the 4 bearings use a tiny roll pin or dowel in them to keep them from spinning. I just so happen to be missing one of those small pins out of one of the smaller bearings. The other small bearing does not even have a slot for it. Do I really need this pin? Where can I get one. Its real tiny.Tags: None

I did buy set of HD transmission bearings set from racing shop for GS1100.
I found they also without that small pins installed .
I just think do it really need that small pin.
someone told me place a drop of red-type screw glue will work fine.
I still haven't try.

I think the pin is to keep the bearing from spinning in the case and causing case wear. I'd find one, auto shops should sell roll pins.Ed
To measure is to know.
