    Head from a S(N) or S(T) - how do I tell?

I've been given a head that looks like it is from a GS1000 - no details (engine or VIN) from the donor bike are available.

What can I look at, look for or measure on the head to determine if it is suitable for my GS1000S(N) or an S(T) - or indeed if it is from a GS1000S at all?

BTW - the head has come with the cams too which look different to those on my S(N) -they don't have the plastic sound deadeners on the cam sprockets.

    Thanks
    Ian

Not sure what you guys had in Australia but here in the states the SN had VM carbs and the ST had BS/CV carbs with larger intake ports. As far as I know the ST head is the same as the G model.

    To measure is to know.

The models that arrived in Austrlalia: the "S" has VM28SS carbs and the "T" models had VM30SS carbs. This from the excellent site:
      gs1000st, gs1000, gs1000s, suzuki gs1000, suzuki gs1000s, suzuki gs1000st, gs1000s 1980, gs1000 st, 1980 gs1000s, 1980 gs1000

I've also had a look at the cams and the exhaust cam has 490 stamped on the cam sprocket and the inlet cam has 451 stamped on the cam sprocket.
