Do a 530 chain conversion with new sprockets and call Z1 for all the details. If your chain is shagged, most likely the sprockets are too and sprockets/chain need to be replaced as a set.

530 chain is cheaper, lighter, and in many cases stronger than 630 chain.

+1 on the 530 conversion.
Better choice in chains, at least there is here, and they are cheaper.
There are also meant to be performance gains from doing the conversion. I know that my 530 chaain and sproket set is lighter than the 630 set was.

I would skip the 530 conversion and go 525 or 520. Sprocketspecialists carries all the parts to do it, but you got to call them to find out what all it is.
If you go 520 you can get good DID and RK roller chains for $15 a pop all day long...but then you'll have to clean/lube your chain twice as often but sometimes you have to work more to spend less.

That's right, nessism...you'll see it most with Aluminum. If running steel sprockets...which requires a machined spacer to offset an SV or GS500 520 front sprocket...you won't see to much wear. Just keep up with the maintenance.

I assume I am running the stock sprocket set now, I haven't counted the teeth.
Does that open up a whole new set of decisions about performance/#of teeth/Speedo accuracy?

630 sprockets have less teeth since the chain links are longer compared to 530. You can calculate the gear ratio by dividing the number of teeth - rear/front. Get 530 sprockets with the same ratio...or just get a 630 chain if your sprockets look good.Ed

520
520 might be the way to go since you will probaly end up converting down anyway. It really cleans and tightens everything up. Its a much lighter set up and unless you are hawgin on the throttle drag racing, it will wear just fine.
