    Well remember the gsx250* and gsx400* bikes are labelled gs250/400* over in the states due to a difference in marketing. Oh and i just checked the engine number details in the book and they state gs25x - 882129 as their example, which i can confirm is pretty much the syntax of what i remember having on my rego papers.

    A further example of marketing differences is early generation kawasaki's, i.e. what i knew as the gpx750R (1985 model) was known as the zx750F1 (the number being the generation of that production run) in the states. It confused the hell out of me at first, but once i was familiar with this nuance it made finding parts online a lot easier. Also as soon as i realised the gs/gsx thing for my little runabout it made finding this forum a heck of a lot easier.

      Yes, the gs425 was made for only one year, 1979 and uses points-ignition.

      I have a wiring harness for a gs450 that should work on the 400.

      Reversed engineered the igniter if you need to repair, pm.
