    Only running on 3 cylinders

    Hi all,

The bike had been running great, then after sitting for the weekend, I started her up to discover that cylinder 1 doesn't seem to be working. I pulled out the plug which looks fine, and checked to make sure there was still a spark.

I'm not sure if it's revevant, but the last time I drove it I got caught in a heavy storm and got soaked but the bike still ran fine.

I just don't know what's happened - could it be the carby?

    Thanks guys, Alex

Carbs are your most likely culprit if you've got spark.

Did you test the spark plug in place, in the dark, to see if it's arcing and shorting out?

I'd start with the carb by draining the offending float bowl and see what comes out.

I didn't check to see of it was arcing in the dark - I might try that, and also drain the float bowl. Thanks

I TOTALLY agree! I've had that problem from time to time and it's worked every time. The only thing I would add is that you should ride it pretty hard and at high revs and I'll bet you'll be running 'on 4' when you get back home.
