Last carb question from me(i hope)

    Ok, 83' gs 750 T, 4into1, D&D, K&N Pods.

I've been told here I need a stage 3 jet kit. Every one agree with that?

Next, where do I find one?!?! I've only been able to find a stage 1.
Do these jet kits come as a complete rebuild kit? O-Rings etc....?

I really only want to do this once.

Thanks for all your help. I hope to have this done before the brown county rally...

    Hi Mr. Spyder,

With pipes and pods, you'll need the extra fuel in the mix to richen up the extra air flow through the engine. Bikebandit has a Stage 3 Dynojet kit for the '83 GS750. The kits are supposed to take most of the guesswork out of jetting a motor with those mods.

While you've got the carbs off, might as well clean them good and get an O-ring kit from Robert Barr. I've also collected a lot of useful links here. They should give you a good start at finding most of the stuff you'll need for your bike.

    Thank you for your indulgence,

Thanks bass cliff, so the stage 3 won't be too much fuel.
and, the jet kit is NOT a rebuild kit.

Correct, NOT a rebuild kit. Parts list and instructions can be found in a PDF file on Dynojet's website:

Sorry Mr. Spyder. It's a little too far away for me. I'm hoping to get together in the spring with a bunch of the West Coast guys for some riding around Julian CA. Should be fun.

                  Yes of course.

For the record, at the top of the Tech page a button says NEW THREAD hit it and ask away.

but your still welcome to post here.

Where are you in chicago again?

Hi Spyder ! I'm in the north side (Clark and Devon). I want to change from pods to stock air filter. I know I have the right main jet, that I have to change the air jet. My question is what else I have to change (pilot, air fuel screw, anything else???)

The reason I want to get it started now, is because I had a oil leak coming from the valve covers (fixed already) and one that I suspected it was coming from the head. I had a few bolts pretty lose, and re-tighten them to see if that would do the trick, so before I do anything else, just want to start it and chek if the leak is gone. Once I do that, I will modify the air and what the carb needs.

                    Thanks !!!

                      Hi Mr. cruz del sur,

What bike are we talking about? All of the stock information should be in your manual. If you don't have a manual, see if there is one on my website. Or you can read through THIS THREAD (a sticky at the top of the Technical Info section) where most of the carb specs for GS bikes should be posted.

                      Thank you for your indulgence,

                      BassCliff

oooo, I'm pretty new to this myself. Good question for BassCliff. I think you have to reset your neddle at the least.

Are you planning to move back to Argentina or just home for visit?
                        Long ride...

Gone for good. I still have family there, and would like to get close to them again. I bearly met my nephews, and don't want to miss out on them.

It will be a heck of a ride. 5000 miles of mountains, crossing to Colombia in a sailboat, roads on salt lakes, and who knows what else . Can't wait to start!!!

Thanks Mr. Cliff! I have a 1980 850 g. I have the manual (thanks to your great web site). My Main is #115, air is 190 (that has to go) and I can't identify the pilots ( will change them if that has to be changed when swaping air system) Do fuel valve and seat have to be changed, and I assume the air/ fuel screw is the same.

Thanks so much for your input :0)

Got to go, but will be back in a bit

You'll need to pull out those glued in Dynojet main air jets. Good luck with that.
