    8v GS1000 engine into a 16v GS1100 frame?

I know that this is backwards of the traditional swap, but has anyone tried this before?

I have a '83 GS1100 that I bought for the motor. I have an extra 8v GS1000 motor that I am thinking of placing into the frame in order to make the bike legal for the Historic Vintage road race classes in the local club.

    Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Tracy

Is the 1100 a G? That would be my first concern.

Chain drive 1000 is a straight swap into an 1100 frame.

Thanks for the input. I had guessed as much, but haven't had a chance to move the bike and the second engine into the same space in the garage as of yet.

In answer to the other question, both engines are chain drive.

        Thanks guys
