When I bought my '79 850 the speedo and tach had been removed. I am thinking of putting an aftermarket tach on it, but have no idea what it redlines at. Does anyone know what my 850 redlines at?

Just rev it till it blows, rebuild the engine, then don't turn it that fast again.
Or just stick to keeping it under 9,000.
In case you haven't discovered it yet, these 850 engines are VERY flexible. They will putt along under 3,000 in town or really move you when the revs get over 6,000 and don't seem to do much complaining at either end of the range.

THanks for the responses. I know what redline sounds like
but the tachs
I've been looking at only go to 8000 and I wasn't sure if that was high enough.Comment
