GS 1000 Cutting Out 5000 RPM
I Have A 1979 GS 1000 L That Set in Brothers Back Yard for 3 yrs I Have Put On Pod Air Filters And Opened up the stock exhaust Have Electronic ignition And Rebuilt the Carbs Replaced Head Gasket Adjusted The Valves And Went from 95 Jets To 102.5 Jets It Cuts out at 5000 rpm At Full throttle And 5500 At 3/4 Throttle Any Ideas Would Be AppericatedTags: None

Hi James. With pods on you are running way too lean with 102.5 main jets - a 1000 fitted with the standard airbox and zorst runs well with those. (I presume 79 = VM carbs)
You need to go at least 130 on the mains and raise your needles - try lowest clip position first. Trial and error is the only way. If you aren't experienced in setting up carbs and still have the original bits you can save a lot of time and grief by reverting to original.79 GS1000S

Take some time to search this website. That question gets asked a lot. There already are many great posts about how to get your jetting right. In fact, nothing personal, but that question is just so common that you might find that people don't answer it. Seriously, search the forum. The truth is out there. Welcome to the board.
