    Pilot jet plug question.

yeah so I think it would be ok and work if I just put some black silicon on my kinda dry but not tightly sealing pilot jet whole plugs to make them stay in, I wouldnt put on much so it would be able to pull them out but just enought to plug them. do you agree?

No, I wouldn't agree. I would not put silicon anywhere. You never know when a dryed up little piece is going to break loose and clog up something important.
I'd just get some new ones. If you look where the float bowl lines up to the rubber caps, it holds them in place.

Ya think they would have them on hand at the Zuki dealer?

100% agree with Larry...silicon and fuel do not make for a good combo!

The Stealer or online sites have them. Do it right or resoak your carbs because the silicon will disolve / dislodge...

They may. Look up the part number here...

then give 'em a call. It saves the poor guy on the other end of the phone having to look them up. If not you can order them from your local dealer.

The float bowl pushes down on these when you tighten them down so even if they are a little hard they won't leak.

A set off four plugs is only about $9 at Z1.

                    Not necessarily.
If Bike Bandit or Alpha or anyone else had a better price, I would have put their name in the post.

I have about a dozen suppliers on my hit list. I shop around. When I see a good price, that's where I go for the product. As it happens, I just received a shippment of main jets and rubber plugs for a couple sets of carbs I am working on, so the information and pricing is still fresh in my little pointy head.

$9 for four little rubber plugs is highway robbery. Would love to find a reasonable work around for those stupid plugs.

Probably so, but if that is what is making a bike run incorrectly, it's rather cheap to get it running right.
The problem is finding anybody that is still willing to work on a bike of our vintage that can correctly diagnose it and is willing to fix it.

My mind always boggles at the prices Alpha-Sports charges. I feel almost guilty when I use their fiche to research superceded part numbers, but I just can't bring myself to pay almost 2/3 more.

Cycle Recycle II ( http://crc2onlinecatalog.com ) also keeps these little plugs in stock. Since they're located 20 minutes from my office, that's what I'd do, but not everyone lives near Indianapolis...
