#2 cylinder isn't firing
The number 2 cylinder on my GS1100EZ isn't firing. It get spark but the pipe is cold. The bike is therefore cold blooded and pops a bit. So far to combat this I have done a valve job and carb sync. Prior to this I rebuilt and cleaned the carbs, set the float height, and jetted the carbs. The boots don't seem to be leaking, I tested with starter fluid. None of this has fixed the problem. Today cylinders 1 and 2 were not firing so I took the carbs off and cleaned those two. Put them back on and now 1 is firing but 2 is still cold. I put a new spark plug in and still nothing. Coils are recent replacement off a 97 katana and appear to be good. Lastly I ran some seafoam through the vacuum line, it smoked a lot and actually leaked out of the exhaust a bit.

Is it only at idle that it will not run on all cylinders or is it at wider throttle openings as well. As in cruising on the open road.

its hard to tell. The exhaust eventually warms up but I think that is just residual heat from the other exhausts. It seems to pop the most at idle. I think it might start to run on 4 at higher rpm but I can't be certain.

I know you have cleaned the carbs but I would recheck the pilot circuit, including the pilot jets. Spray with carb cleaner, using nozzle tube and make sure it comes out the other side and blow out with compressed air.

I disassembled all 4 carbs and dipped them a week ago. Then today I took the pilot jets out and cleaned them and sprayed them with cleaner. I am fairly confident they are not blocked.

What about the pilot circuit inside the carb bodies. Make sure the spray comes out the exit hole when sprayed with the carb cleaner.

Yup, I sprayed it and it came out the other side. I'm thinking about putting some seafoam in the tank and riding it.

what does the plug look like ? #2 feeds the petcock! Try running on prime with the vaccum hose pluged

I've tried running it with the tank off with a funnel going directly into the fuel line and the vacuum blocked off.
The plug is new and still looks brand new.
