1981 GS750E wiring help: Ignition switch wire decode please
My new FZR front end came with a better ignition switch...so I would like to use it instead. Yamaha uses a generic 3-wire setup that's easy as pie to setup...actually makes it possible to steal an MKI R6 in about 2 minutes if the triple is unlocked which is sad...but anyway...I'm needing to know what each of the four GS750 wires are so I can set this up right.
Thanks in advance!!Tags: None

Ok we'll get a little more advanced here
Yamaha has three wires: A, B, and C. Power is supplied from A. Ignition switch on, B and C are powered.
Here's the zooki wiring:
Which of those wires is actually supposed to be hot all the time? I may end up just running a seperate toggle and use the key to turn on power to the coils.

The brown wire just controls the tail light for "park". The orange and red break the fuse block and the green lights the speedo, tach and fuel guage lights.1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.

It's really as simple as Chef says. The witch only interrupts power from the main fuse back to the fuse block again, the brown is for parking lights and can be ignored if you don't use the P-Lights for anything.,1981 GS650G , all the bike you need
1980 GS1000G Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely
