Good to hear other people are happy with the S-11's. I've got a set I'm anxiously watching on the UPS tracking site. I don't have any desire to mount & balance a set of tires so I tried to buy local. The local shops have 2 prices for mounting/balancing, higher if you buy tires elsewhere. Even paying the premium buying the S-11's online will still be cheaper than buying a set of Kendas locally.

I wanted to add a link to this thread that I found today for different spline greases.

      • Honda Moly 60 paste, $9 for 3oz, pn 08734-0001 at your Honda dealer, or $8 from Kim Leong, STOC 3073, California Sport Touring.
      • LocTite Moly paste, 65% molybdenum disulfide. $20 for an 8oz tube from Enco, part #505-1197, 800-873-3626
      • TS-70 Moly Paste, 4 oz. ctg. $14 from TSMoly. (800) 508-5545

For those of you who simply have money to burn and must use over kill...This maybe worth researching to see if this is true...

"Nascar mechanics have found that Krytox grease can reduce the temperature of spline joints on drive shafts by 150°. Also, this stuff lasts forever. It is, unfortunately, quite expensive. "

      Krytox greases:
      • DuPont XHT-AC extra high temperature anti-corrosive Krytox. $30 for a 2oz tube, pn 10195K25; $113 for an 8oz tube, from McMaster Carr.
      • DuPont XHT-BDX extra high temperature extra bonding Krytox. $63 for a 2oz tube pn 10195K22; $230 for an 8oz tube pn10195K24 from McMaster Carr.
      • LocTite Krytox HyperLube, pn 29711. about $35 for two ounces.

      Hope this helps.

      Shafty.

        Wow!

For that price, that Krytox grease had better cure acne and improve your sex life too!

        Thanks for sharing.

It all works only if you apply it correctly....I use my kid's old toothbrushes to evenly apply the Moly60 on the spline TEETH. Dip it in the tube, brush it on evenly, no blobs or waste , no mess on the hands, every tooth surface gets covered, and throw the brush out after!...and no cavities
It sometimes pays to have 6 kids....a never ending supply of old toothbrushes for the garage work!

I haven't been out to Chaparral yet but some of my friends have. It's in San Bernardino about 40 minutes from my house. I'm going to have to check it out. But I'm afraid of the "kid in a candy store" syndrome.

I've been there... it's not cheap & they don't have a lot of everything but they do have something of absolutely everything if that makes sense. There's a lot of off road stuff there.

There's a warehouse in Long Beach that offers some pretty good deals.. I'll have to dig out the link, you can pick up from it too.
