    Flatslide Carbs?

    What's up Everyone?

I want to buy a set of Flatslide Carbs for my 83 gs1100e but I don't know what size to get. What size would I need for a stock gs1100e? I already have a 4-1 exhaust.

    Thanks, Supavert

Did you try the search function? This topic has come up many times before so the answer in the archives...somewhere.

I'm not an expert on aftermarket carbs but I think you want to stay with 36's.

      36 CV flatslide

The cheapest option are the slingshot carbs which are cv flatslide. 36 is a nice size for a boost to the 1100.

U can tell the 36mm because on the inlet side where the pods would go U need the dual oval intake pods.

There are alot of plastic parts inside, so I would not look for the cheapest set I could find and figure to rebuild. Start with something decent as there are parts that wear like needles and emullsion tubes.

I have three sets now, but none on the GS1100ED yet; but planned

U can go the next step which is RS flatslide ; this can cost $350+. The last nice set I saw was $480.

Get either the 34 mm or 36 mm Mikuni RS flatslides. Do you want new or used? If you want a good set of used 36s, I have a set for sale for 350. Let me know if you are interested. Ray.

If you're pretty handy with carbs buy the gsxr stuff and save a bunch of money, otherwise buy the RSs which are pretty darn near plug and play.
