All the literature I have read says one side of relay goes to body ground. Can this go to neg post on battery?

Mod is done. One snag my five pin relay (free from work along with wire and connectors) Had 2 #87 terminals or so I thought. One was #87a and one coil was on while the other off
Problem quickly corrected.

easy theft control device, just swap terminals when you park it
