    need help with KYB shock

I removed this from a gs1100 parts bike--I know it looks like sh_t--can any body tell me any info on it? It has KYB and 4930 stamped on it--thanks in advance.

It needs to be cleaned up...

That is some old iron there. If I were going through a re-shock on a bike I think I would look for new-er set up. IMHO

That would be a shock of a Katana and very old and if you clean it up real good can be used as a paper weight. Thats all it will be good for.

just looking for info--not cleaning it up--not re-using it--don't need a paperweight--just curious about it--so far; it came off a katana--anybody have any real/serious info?

yeah looks like a 82 gs1000 kat shock, same ones on my Kat. The folding lever gives it away, it was only used on the Kat.
